Charles Williams

Waynesville – Charles Thomas Williams, age 78, went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Charles George VA Medical Center. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, he was a son of the late John and Jessie Jones Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Williams. He retired in 1988 from 3M as production supervisor where he worked for 35 years. Charles was a United States Navy veteran and was a loving father, grandfather, and father-in-law. He is survived by four daughters, Kristy Rathbone and her husband, Scott, Sandra Williams, Cindy Spires and her husband, Paul, and Karen McClain and her husband, Marc; one step-daughter, Pat Grissinger and her husband, Greg; two sisters, Frances Jones and Elizabeth Freeman; thirteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Greene officiating. Burial followed at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road. The family received friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
