Charlie Medford, 64, of Asheville went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 2, surrounded by his family. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late William and Fannie Green Medford. Charlie was a graduate of Erwin High School and retired from Borg Warner. He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the Army. His family meant everything to him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Brooks Medford; children, Christina West of Asheville, George 'Billy' Medford of Candler, Christopher Medford of Canton and Charles 'Keith' Medford of Candler; sisters, Pearl Hayman of Asheville and Hester Zapian of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren Kaila, Autumn, Paige and Germar West and Megan, Lauren and Charlotte Medford.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, December 5th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler with Rev. Terry Penland officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, December 4th in Chapel of Faith at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn.
