Charlie Parham

December 8, 1926 — August 26, 2007

Charlie Adam Parham, age 80, of O'Donald Rd., died Sunday, August 26, 2007, at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was a native of Haywood County and the son of the late Lonnie and Elizabeth Rymer Parham. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Delia Rhinehart and Gencie Nelson and 3 brothers, Reverend Carter Parham, Robert Parham and Ray Parham. Charlie was a Transportation Safety Assistant for Progressive Education in the Buncombe County Schools, he retired in 2004 with 18 years of service. He was also a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucille Holcombe Parham of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. He loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Harold Cable, Reverend Rick Griffin and Reverend Kellen Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Progressive Education Program of Buncombe County Schools, 175 Bingham Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
