Charlotte Boone

Charlotte Clark Boone, age 83, of the Beaverdam Community died Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Haywood Regional Medical Center under the care of Hospice following an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late W. T. and Maude Grogan Clark. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia Jane Boone and two sisters, Thomasine Scarboro and Jacqueline Robinson. She was active in all school functions and served as president of the PTA for numerous years. She was a faithful member of Beaverdam United Methodist Church where over the years she held all types of positions. Her family and church were the two most important things in her life. In addition to her husband of 66 years, Bill Boone, she is survived by a daughter, Linda B. Worley and her husband, Harvey, of Canton; two sons, William David Boone and his wife, Catherine, of Canton, and Jerry Daniel Boone and his wife, Jeannene, of Waynesville; a sister, Barbara Jean Leary and her husband, Russell, of Ocala, FL; a brother, Buddy Clark, Jr. and his wife, Gayle, of Salt Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Wm. Dennis Worley, Karen Boone Robitelle, Lydia Worley Warren, and Shawn M. Boone; also four great-grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Sanford and Zachary and Charlotte Warren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2008, at Beaverdam United Methodist Church with the Reverend Kyles Wallace, Reverend Harry Hawk, and Reverend Tim Drum officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Pallbearers will be Britt Warren, Jason Robitelle, Steve Boone, Rick Scarboro, Douglas Robinson, Anthony Bolden, and Mike Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Boone, Ed Bell, Harley Miller, Guy Mathews, and Bill Robinson. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 96 Lillie Lane.
