Charlotte Rathbone

Waynesville, Charlotte Marie Poulson Rathbone, age 70, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at her daughter's residence. She was a native of Salem County, NJ, where she lived all of her life and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Anna Troupe Poulson. She was also preceded in death by husband, Joseph Oliver Rathbone, Sr., who died in 1996; a son, Joseph Oliver Rathbone, Jr.; three brothers and three sisters. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Marie Ward and her husband, Ricky, of Maggie Valley, Linda Holbrooks and her husband, Tim, of Franklin and Lori Ann Beatty and her husband, Frank, of Waynesville; a son, David Wayne Rathbone and his wife, Melissa, of Canton; a sister, Jeanette Cagle of Bulls Gap, TN; a brother, Carl Poulson, of Sneedville, TN; thirteen grandchildren, Crystal, Ricky, Jethro, Timothy, Adam, Tasha, Jimmy, Chris, Amber, David, Josh, Sheena and Justin; and nine great-grandchildren, Haley, Alex, Aubrey, Faith, Josiah, Brayden, Caleb, Austin and Chase. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with Brother Nathaniel Ayers and Reverend Paul Carden officiating. Burial will follow at Fulbright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and Marshall Cagle and Nick Dirienzo. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721
