Cheryl Ferguson

June 28, 1960 — November 25, 2014

Clyde, Cheryl Ann Ferguson, age 54, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of Florence "Shirley" Rickett Bridges and the late Lawrence Bud Bridges. She was preceded in death by an uncle, George Rickett and father-in-law, Jerry Sheppard. Cheryl was a commercial painter and was someone who enjoyed the simple things in life, visiting Fontana Lake with family, and also playing bingo. Her pride and joy in life were her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Stuart R. Ferguson; two daughters, Melissa Cooper (Brian) of Hendersonville and Michelle Palmer of Scarborough, Maine; three sons, Fred Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, and George Johnson (Melissa Smith), all of Portland, Maine; 5 sisters, Schirley CuzMickey, Linda Bridgs Scarborough, Rosie Dumeney, Mary Jo Bridges and Karen Trynor; 6 brothers, Dallas, Johnny, Ricky, Larry, Michael and Donny-Ray all of Maine and 14 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery with Pastor Gerald Lince officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to services at the funeral home.
