Chester Sharp, 87, of Red Springs, formally of Candler, passed away on Tuesday at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC. He was a son of the late Myra McMahan and Charley Sharp. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruby Sharp, three brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Sharp was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and worked for Ward Piano Company.
Survivors include his daughters, Lucille Goins and husband Everett of Trenton, FL, Ruth Craig of Red Springs, Barbara Walters of Red Springs, sister, Novella Penley of Asheville, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, step-sons, Charles and Laverne Whitted, Jimmy D. Whitted and friend Jan, Willard 'Buck' and Mae Whitted and a special thanks to Linda Burrell.
Funeral services will be held 2PM on Saturday in the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn with the Reverend's Jackie Collins and Leon Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel on Friday evening from 6-8PM.
