Christine Schoonover

Waynesville, Christine Lydia Regina Schoonover, age 67, of Chloe Lane passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at her residence. A native of Staten Island, New York, she was a prior resident of Wayland, Massachusetts and had resided in Haywood County for the past 16 years. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Helen Salo Ashley. Christine loved her 11 grandchildren and was a member of the Shady Ladies, where she was known for Quilt Art. She is survived by her partner of 16 years, Michael L. Schoonover; two daughters, Susan Fall (Timothy), Liza Gilson (David); a stepdaughter, Laura James (Philip); a stepson, Michael Schoonover, Jr. (Rebecca); a brother, Robert Ashley (Patty) and 11 grandchildren. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Jerry Presnell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
