Christopher Mintz

Waynesville, Christopher Dale Mintz, age 48, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at his residence.

A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Rufus Carroll Mintz and Dorothy Ammons Bacon.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 10 years, Coleen Mintz, who died suddenly in August 2020.

Chris enjoyed being outside and working as a landscaper.  That profession complemented his interest in painting landscapes, churches, barns, and eagles.  He greatly enjoyed battling against his son playing video games together.

Chris is survived by his mother, Dorothy Ammons Bacon, and stepfather, Mortimer "Morty" Bacon III; his son, Jonah Cogburn of Waynesville; two brothers, Steve (Karen) Mintz and Gary (Christeen) Mintz; stepbrother, Stiles Bacon; stepsister, Faye Bacon; and his aunt, Betty (Bobby) Smith.

The care of Chris has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
