Christopher Zachary

Christopher Eric Zachary, age 34, of Hendersonville, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007. He was a native of Buncombe County, had resided in Haywood County most of his life and lived in Henderson County for the last 10 years. He was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, E.O. Powell Jr., and paternal grandparents, Walter and Wilhemine Zachary. Chris loved the outdoors, especially camping and water sports, and had a passionate love of animals. He graduated from Pisgah High School in 1991. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Tasha Mundy Zachary; his four-legged children, Macy, Kayla and Seuss; his father and step-mother, Eric and Nancy Zachary of Weaverville; his mother and step-father, Jane and Gary Salvaggio of Hendersonville; a maternal grandmother, Edith Brown Powell of Canton; a half sister, Wendy Southall and her husband, Tommy, of Hampton, VA; 2 nieces, Brooke and Hannah Southall; and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Canton with the Reverend David H. Christy officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford-Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
