Christy Grogan

Christy Leigh Grogan, age 35, met her heavenly Father on Saturday morning, June 18, 2011 in Hiawassee, Georgia. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of Larry Dean and Jennifer Crisp Grogan. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William Ralph Grogan and Madge Smathers Grogan; maternal grandfather, Cromer Lee Crisp, Sr., and her uncle, Dannie Mease. She was a 1994 graduate of Pisgah High School and a 1997 graduate of Haywood Community College. Christy was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton and was a longtime employee of Wal-Mart where she was the front end manager. Christy loved life, the Lord, spending time with her family, traveling, but above all else, helping others. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Susie Crisp of Canton; two sisters, Corrie Coats and her husband, Christopher, of Clyde, and Cara Grogan of Lexington, SC; two aunts, Suzanne Ames of Canton, and Sandy Hipps and her husband, Dennis, of Clyde; one uncle, Cromer Lee Crisp, Jr. of Asheville; three nephews, Hayden, Emmett, and Cromer Coats all of Clyde; and her four-legged girls, Isabella Louise and Bayleigh Elaine. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Canton with the Reverend James A. Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
