C.L. Barnes

Candler- Camie Lear "C.L." Barnes, age 79, died on Tuesday March 16, 2010 at Mission Hospitals Memorial Campus. A native of North Georgia, C.L. was the son of the late Camie and Lear Crook Barnes. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane Young Barnes. He was a United States Army veteran. C.L. was a very special husband and father. He loved the Lord and was an active member and leader at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Surviving C.L. is his wife, Shirley Wise Barnes, three sons, Mack Young and his wife, Marsha, Sam Barnes and his wife, Debra, and Daniel Barnes and his wife, Alice; one brother, Onis Barnes and his wife, Reba; a special sister-in-law, Helen Garren and her husband, Jimmy; four grandchildren, Sarah Metz, Christopher Barnes, Denise Burnette and Bryan Young; three great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverend Philip Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton.
