Claiborne Jones

Waynesville, Claiborne Elwood Jones, of Allens Creek, died on Saturday, August 02, 2008 at his residence. A native of Gilchrist County, Florida, he was the son of the late Arial and Alice McSwain Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Levey Montgomery Jones in 1983, a daughter, Linda Huckabay, and her infant son, Justin Paul Huckabay. Claiborne's passion was gardening and was a member of the Waynesville Seventh Day Adventist Church. Over the years, he served as Head Elder, Sabbath School Superintendent, and taught the Junior Class. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia May Jones; one son, Carl Jones, of Pickens, SC; four daughters, Carol Wetmore and husband, Calvin, of Hendersonville, NC, Glenda Jehle and husband, Don, of Loma Linda, CA, Patricia Greene of Maggie Valley, and Kim Howe and husband, John, of Pinebluff, NC; five grandchildren, Jeannette and Jeremy Wetmore, Amanda Jehle; Stephanie Jones, and John Greene; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Wetmore and Dellah Jones. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Waynesville Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Ed Couser, Pastor Bob Dubose, and Elder Bryan Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to services at the church.
