Canton-Clara Marlor Rogers, age 73, formerly of Little East Fork Road, died Sunday, January 2, 2004 at Harris Regional Hospital. A native of Madison County, she had lived most of her life in Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Elgin Berry Marlor and Roxie Ballew Marlor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Jackson Rogers, who died in 1996 and a son, Edward R. Rogers, who died in 1985. She was a member of Burnette Siding Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Owen and her husband, Harrell, of Little Canada, NC; two sons, David James Rogers and his wife, Shirley Mae and Lon Elgin Rogers and his wife, Nancy Kate, both of Canton; a sister, Polly Scitler, of Canton; three brothers, Robert Marlor and Grover Wells of Marshall and Johnny Marlor of Candler; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Greene and Reverend Stacey Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Sunburst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
