Clara Wilson

Clara Llewellyn Wells Wilson went to heaven on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the Maggie Valley Nursing Facility. She was born on August 7, 1929, to Garland and Geneva Wells. Clara was 82. She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She loved her church. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, D. A. "Bud" Wilson, who died in 1971. She was quiet and gentle with a kind heart. Clara loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything. She loved to eat out and go to basketball games. Clara had worked in the cafeterias at Bethel Elementary and Pisgah High School and loved being around all of the kids. Family was so important to Clara and she loved not only her immediate family, but all her cousins in Asheville and South Carolina. Clara was loved by many and she is greatly missed already. She is survived by children, Keith Wilson and his wife, Dianne, Joy Francis and her husband, Donny, Donella Williams and her husband, Danny; a sister, Maude Pace; a brother, Shuford Wells and his wife, JoAnn; grandchildren, Aprile Simpkins (Sean), Shane Wilson, Brooke Ballard (T.J.), Stephanie Bagwell, Jill Williams, and Robin Sigmon; five great-grandchildren, Kayden Simpkins, Lani and Baley Woods, and Carson and Scout Sigmon. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Donnie Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Keith Wilson, son, Shane Wilson, grandson, Carl Pace, Sean Simpkins, T. J. Ballard, Mease Wells. At other times, the family will be at the residence of her daughter, 93 Arrow Drive in Canton. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
