Clarence Plemmons

Canton - Clarence R. Plemmons, age 86, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.<br><br>He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late James & Eva King Plemmons. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Jency Mae Plemmons, who died in 1983 and a son, Clarence "Ron" Plemmons. Clarence was employed with Champion International for 35 years when he retired in 1983 and a United States Army veteran. He loved fishing and camping at Happy Holiday Campground and his two "boys" Oscar and Little, his little dogs. <br><br>He is survived by one son, Tracy Plemmons and his wife, Sheila, of Candler; a daughter-in-law, Janice Plemmons of Canton; five grandchildren, Stacy Plemmons, Veronica Barton and her husband, Wes, Andy Plemmons and his wife, Carli, Shana Mandeville and her husband, Austin and Jimmy Plemmons, and five great-grandchildren, Bethany and Nicholas Barton, Dakota and Nicholas Plemmons, and Aiden Mandeville.<br><br>Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend David Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Care Partners Hospice Memorial Fund, P.O.
