Clarence Ron Plemmons, age 59, of 27 Walnut Ridge Road died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center in Asheville. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of Clarence R. Plemmons and the late Jency M. Plemmons. He retired from Square D as a maintenance technician with 34 years of service and volunteered with the Haywood County Rescue Squad for over 20 years. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Special Forces during the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of Major. Ron was an avid trout fisherman and a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janice Morris Plemmons; a daughter, Veronica Barton, and husband, Wesley, of Canton; a son, Andrew Plemmons, and wife, Carli, of Clyde; a brother, Tracy Plemmons, and wife, Sheila, of Candler; and two grandchildren, Bethany and Nicholas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2006, at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at his residence. Memorials may be made to the John F.
