Waynesville, Clarence Vinson Miller, 80, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, in Statesville, North Carolina.
Vinson was a native of Tennessee and the son of the late Joseph and Ruth Wilkinson Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Patricia Wyatt Miller, who passed in 2013 and one sister, Rachel Palmer. Vinson spent much of his career with A.C. Lawrence Leather Company, eventually retiring from Champion/Evergreen Packaging. He was intrigued at an early age with all things mechanical. Vinson enjoyed motorcycles, golf carts and fine audio equipment. He also enjoyed using his tractors to maintain his property. He always had an interest in old timepieces and repaired numerous grandfather clocks and cuckoo clocks for family and friends. Vinson was a longtime member of Barberville Baptist Church and also attended services at Encouraging Word Baptist Church.
Vinson is survived by his son, Lynn (Regina) Miller of Alexander, North Carolina; one sister, Kay (Richard) Miller-Todd of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Loren (Anna) Miller of Morristown, Tennessee and Hersey (Gwen) Miller of Statesville, North Carolina; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Vinson will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with Pastor Michael Horton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will take place at Fulbright Cemetery following the service.
