Clark Russell

Waynesville, Edwin Clark Russell, 57 of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011. A native of Waynesville, NC, he was the son of Grovene Clark Russell and the late William Edwin Russell of Waynesville. Clark was a graduate of Tuscola High School and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He was the previous owner/president of Synapse Technology Inc., owner of Russell Builders and World Realty, Inc. of Charlotte. He was a loving and devoted father who always enjoyed his work. Clark was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jamie D. Russell; a daughter, Erin Clark Russell and a son, William Brian Russell, all of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by one sister, Vicki Russell Gordon and her husband, Mike, of Waynesville; and an uncle who was raised as a brother, Dr. William Dallas Clark of Houston, Texas; a step-daughter, Ashley Yarber; a step-son Adam Yarber (Holly), all of Charlotte, NC; five nieces; Caroline Ottinger (John), Camden Nelson (Kent), Jennifer Clark, Pamela Helms (Grady) and Kasey Clark; a nephew, William R. Clark (Ewa); several great nieces and nephews; a step-granddaughter, Scarlet; and Nell Russell, mother of his children. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Dr. Robert Prince officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel of the church.
