Claude Jimison

Claude Billy Jimison, age 83, died on Monday, September 19, 2011, at MedWest – Haywood. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Sam Willis and Hassie Wright Jimison. He was also preceded in death by five brothers. He retired from Haywood County Schools and was a member at Oak Grove Baptist Church for fifty years. He is survived by his wife, Mildred L. Jimison; three sons, Daniel Jimison and his wife, Devonne, of Franklin, Eugene Lance and his wife, Brenda , of Clyde, and Sherrill Lance and his wife, Pam, of Canton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Ned Webb and Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 50 Robinson Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
