Claudia Dickson

Claudia Bleyl Dickson, age 73, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Haywood County, but she had resided in Houston, TX for a number of years. Claudia was the daughter of the late Nelson Miles and Nell Edna Henderson Bright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John C. Dickson, who died in 1998. Claudia was a member of Canton Presbyterian Church. In 2001, she came back to Canton to live. Claudia worked many years for her husband's dental practice in Houston, TX. She retired as his office manager. She is survived by two sons, Donald Louis Bleyl and his wife, Shelley, of Canton, and Mark Bleyl of Clyde; one daughter, Karen Bleyl Heck and her husband, Garrett, of Kemah, TX; three grandchildren, Carrie, Natasha, and Weston; one step-son; two step-daughters; and four step-granddaughters, all of Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Canton Presbyterian Church with Reverend Riley Covin officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on the Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
