Claymer Carver

Waynesville-Claymer Carver, age 94, died Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Brian Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was the son of the late Oliver and Tina Sutton Carver. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Leona Carver, who died in 2006, an infant son and a daughter, Tulan Garnes and eleven brothers and sisters. Mr. Carver retired with Dayco as a stocker before retiring with 23 years of service. He was a member of East Waynesville Baptist Church. Mr. Carver loved the out doors as a hunter, fisherman, gardener and he had a great sense of humor. He is survived by two daughters, Thelma Lowe and her husband, Frank, Edith Nichols and her husband, Albert, all of Waynesville; one sister, Nell Cagle of Waynesville; five grandchildren, William Albert Nichols of Harrisville, PA, Roger and Marty Lowe of Waynesville, Darlene Worley of Candler, and Cherri Eller of Raleigh; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 14, 2006 at East Waynesville Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Reeves, Reverend Neal Eller, and Reverend Josh Walls officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church, and at other times at 251 Sunnyside Road, Waynesville.
