Cleolua Dupree

Waynesville, NC-Cleolua "Cody" Draughon Dupree, age 95, died on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Newton, AL, she resided most of her life in Dothan. She was the daughter of the late Walter D. and Addie Davis Draughon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Morris Sheppard Dupree, who died in 1991; two grandchildren, Alicia Lynn Donaldson and Michael Aaron Buckner; one sister, Buena Draughon; and two brothers, Joel Herman Draughon and Cecil Melvin Draughon. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, of Dothan, AL. During her membership in Trinity Presbyterian Church, of Dothan, AL, she was the founder, the director, and a teacher of the church kindergarten. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Nan Dupree, of Asheville and Donna D. Buckner and her husband, Bob, of Waynesville; one brother, Dr. Walter D. Draughon, Jr. and his wife, Jackie, of Graceville, FL; two sister-in-laws, Virgina and Inis Draughon; and five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, Gavin Donaldson and wife, Mary Susan, and their children, Taylor and B.J., Ginger Zsambeky and her husband, Jonathan, and their children, Turner and Leah Catherine, Andy Buckner, Kris Moore and her husband, David, and their daughters, Emily and Erin, and Lyn Metzger and her son, Parish. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Dothan, AL on Friday, December 29, 2006 with Dr. Walter D. Draughon, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Ward-Wilson Memorial Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
