Clinton Putnam

Clyde, Clinton Ernest Putnam, age 87, of Liner Creek Road, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Fred and Sarah Jane Price Putnam. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Putnam, and one brother, Glenn Putnam. He was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a farmer in the Crabtree Community. Clinton enjoyed sitting on his porch and talking to his neighbors and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Clint is survived by a brother, Alfred Putnam, of Upper Crabtree community; five nieces, Wanda Parton (Ricky), Martha Swanger (Mike), Glenda Stewart (Steven), Gloria Green (Eddie) and Fredia Phillips; and one nephew, Ted Putnam. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 5, 2015 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Simpson and Reverend Stacy Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Crabtree Community Cemetery with military rites conducted by Haywood County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
