Clyde Briggs

Briggs, Clyde William, 86, of Leicester passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his home. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Roy and Ellie Martin Briggs and attended West Buncombe High School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Virgil Ray Briggs and Gay Williams Briggs; and half-sisters, Betty Freeman and Edna Rhinehart.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Edna Herron Briggs, they would have been married 56 years on February 4th; daughter, Ellie (Paul) Briggs Brown; half-brother, Jimmy Brigss; grandchildren, Jimmy (Dorothy) Brown, Michael (Misty) Brown, Virgil Briggs and Fred Briggs; and great-grandchildren, Tamara Brown, Andrew Brown, Justin Brown and Chanie Brown.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, January 25th at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn's Chapel of Faith, the Rev. Billy Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park, Candler. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
