Clyde Rhinehart

Waynesville, Clyde Raymond Rhinehart, age 81, of Lady Byrd Lane, went home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 13, 2011 at MedWest Haywood Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 1, 1930 to the late Richard and Janie Hance Rhinehart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Wade (Bud) Rhinehart, a sister, Wilma Henry and two infant siblings. He retired from Lea Industries after 25 years of service, after leaving Smokey Mountain Fertilizer plant. Clyde was faithful to the Lord and Hyatt Creek Freewill Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendant for many years. He loved the Lord, the church, and his family and was a friend to everyone. Surviving is his devoted wife of 61 years, Mary Sorrells Rhinehart; two daughters, Juanita Trull and her husband, Terry, of Bethel and Terri Putnam of Cruso; two sons, Michael Wayne Rhinehart and his wife, Christina, of Hyatt Creek and Ricky Dale Rhinehart and his wife, Cynthia, of Leicester; one sister, Dixie (Sis) Page, of Hazelwood; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Kenneth (Sonny) Rhinehart, Reverend Larry Coates and Reverend Steve Rhinehart will officiate. Honorary ministers will be Reverend Coy Wheeler of Swannanoa and Reverend George Plemmons of Clyde. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons and a great-great-grandson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday night at the funeral home.
