Connie Mae Venable Wiggins, 93 of Wiggins Street died Saturday, October 04, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Jackson County, KY, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Alice St. John Venable and the widow of the late Ralph Patrick Wiggins who died in 1984. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Freda Wiggins and a son, Roy Patrick Wiggins and three brothers, one sister and two grandchildren-Richard Patrick Wiggins and Michael Keith Gaddis. She was formerly employed by American Enka and also had retired from the Haywood County Schools having served as a cafeteria assistant at Canton High School.
Surviving are three daughters, Norma Jean Gaddis and her husband, George of Canton and Linda M. Maney and her husband, Bill and Sheila Wiggins, both of Clyde; two sons, R. C. Wiggins and his wife, Doris of Clearwater, SC and Carl J. Wiggins and his wife, the late Anne Robinson Wiggins of Mt. City, TN. 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 5th at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. View Church of God of which she was a charter member. Reverends Herman Toney and Arvle Nations will officiate. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on the Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 until 2:30 at the church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
