Cora Goforth

Cullowhee, Cora Sue Conard Goforth, age 60, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at MedWest Harris Regional Hospital. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late James Eligah and Velma Frizzell Conard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ben Edward Goforth, Sr., who died in 2008, and two brothers, Harry Lee and Donald Ray Conard. She was an employee at Lee Industries with 20 years of service. Cora loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her nieces and nephews. Cora is survived by four sisters, Patsy Conard of Cullowhee, Hazel Kahely and Rose (Charles) McAbee of Waynesville, and Harriet (William) Hill of Sevierville, Tennessee; four brothers, John Henry Conard and James (Kimberly) Conard of Waynesville, Terry Conard of Cullowhee, and Roger (Nancy) Conard of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to services at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
