Waynesville, Cora Lee Sheehan, age 65, of Virginia Avenue, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Margie Lee Jenkins Allison and the late Willie Claude Allison. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert "Bobby" Allison. She was a retired lead trainer for Haywood Vocational Opportunities where she worked for 29 years. Cora was a great wife and an even better mother. She enjoyed her dog, Harley, and working in her yard. She was an advocate for the physically and mentally challenged and to sum her up in one word would be, "SUPERSTAR." In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 45 years, David Sheehan; one daughter, Ann Sheehan, of Waynesville; two sons, Bo Sheehan and his wife, Sara, of Waynesville and Chris Sheehan and his wife, Misty, of Canton; one sister, Claudette Allison and her partner, Stephanie St. Pierre; one brother, Lewis Allison and his wife, Lisa, of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Trey, Adam, Megan, Kayla, and Lacey; a great-granddaughter, Nala and one on the way, to be named Allison. A private graveside service will be held at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
