Cora Vanderpool

Galion, Ohio, Cora H. Vanderpool, age 89, of 76 Hill-N-Dale Drive, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 28th at Smoky Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Waynesville, NC after a short illness. She was born on October 5, 1920 to Lee and Carrie Shyres Bach. Mrs. Vanderpool was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky and moved to Ohio in 1958. Mrs. Vanderpool resided in Galion, Ohio for more than 45 years and had recently moved to North Carolina to live with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Grover Vanderpool; a daughter, Helen Kay Chambers of Lexington, Kentucky; two brothers; and one sister. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Pounds and her husband, Tim, of Clyde; two sons, Chuck Lovely and his wife, Cindy, of Mansfield, Ohio and Nelson Vanderpool and his wife, Margaret, of Florida. She is also survived by three brothers, Thomas Bach of Louisville, Kentucky, Art Bach and his wife, Judy, of Mansfield, Ohio, and David Bach and his wife, Peggy, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Vanderpool was a friend to many and the door to her home was always open. And, more than anything, she loved her family as well as her church family. She also loved crossword puzzles, snow, a fireplace, the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team, and every pet she ever had. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 2, 2010 in the chapel of Schnneider Funeral Home in Galion, Ohio. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
