Cristina Patalinjug Rhinehart, age 70, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born in Davoa, Philippines. She worked on Clarke Air Force Base, where she met and married Michael W. Rhinehart. She resided in Haywood County since August 1973. She was a daughter of the late Juanita Amit Patalinjug and Franciso De Javier Diaz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cesar Aliviado. Cristina graduated with honors from Haywood Community College and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Sorority. She also was a very active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She believed that God came first then family. She was very devoted to both.
Cristina is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Michael W. Rhinehart; two daughters, Michelle Seals (husband Thomas), Sherryl Moore (husband Christopher); son, M. Alexander Rhinehart (wife Kaylib); sister, Gina Barrett (husband Richard), brother, Joselito Patalinjug; seven grandchildren, Katherine Ann Lastinger, Tristan Ezell, Christa Seals, Ian Ezell, Makayla Moore, Makenzie Moore, and Zach Moore; and three great-grandchildren, Daniel Thomas Lastinger, Isabella Lastinger, and Liam Douglas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. John’s Catholic Church 234 Church Street in Waynesville with Father Paul McNulty officiating. Services will be live-streamed at stjohnrcc.com. Burial will follow at church cemetery.

The care of Mrs. Rhinehart has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
