Curtis Stanley Kuehn

Curtis Stanley Kuehn, affectionately known as the "Geezer," passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on March 6, 1943, Curtis lived a life filled with purpose and dedication leaving behind a legacy cherished by his loved ones.

A proud veteran, Curtis served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War displaying courage and commitment that reflected his strong character. Following his military service, he pursued a bachelors in Architecture and Mechanical Engineering from NC State, and he went on to make significant contributions as a mechanical engineer at Evergreen and Blue Ridge Packaging for several years.

Curtis was not just known for his professional achievements; he was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family included his beloved partner, Bonta Penrose, son David Kuehn (Janna), grandchildren Taiylor Moody (Paul) and Cristian Kuehn, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren Ayden, Maddison, and Jaxon Moody.

An avid enthusiast of trains and old cars, Curtis found immense joy in tinkering and exploring his mechanical interests. His passion for these hobbies was a source of delight for those who knew him, often inviting family and friends to share in the experience.

Curtis was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Aileen Collier Kuehn, and his wife, Clarissa Kuehn, who passed away in 2014.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home, Waynesville.

Curtis Stanley Kuehn's warm spirit, wisdom, and love for his family will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on through those he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
