Canton - DAVID KENNETH SANFORD, age 75, went to his eternal home on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Loyd and Lula Mae Bowers Sanford. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joann Fortner, and a brother, Donald Sanford. He was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church and loved his church family dearly.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Alba Jo Cook Sanford; his two precious daughters, Sebrena Kay Sanford, and Jennifer Michele Singleton and husband Shane, of Canton; a grandson, Ryan A Singleton, the light of his life and best friend; three brothers, Roger Sanford of Spartanburg, S.C., Johnny Sanford and wife, Rita, of Pacolet, S.C., and Terry Sanford and wife, Lynn, of Pacolet, S.C. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews whom he loved dearly.

Kenneth never met a stranger and could always carry on a conversation with them. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He especially enjoyed traveling, fishing, and raising his garden. He built the house his family lives in today and always made sure they were provided for. He was an owner-operator and drove long haul across the country for many years and also was a Tractor- Trailer training instructor for Blanton's Junior College. We will miss him dearly, but know he is at peace with God watching over him.

The family especially would like to thank Dr. William Maddox, Dr. John Lawrence, Dr. James Hoer, Dr. Ron Wild, Dr. Lorry Cizek, Dr. Kelly Wood, Dr. Pritchard and all their staff for all the kind and loving care they gave to Kenneth (Trouble) over the past 30 years. You have been like family to us.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Brandon, Justin, Heath, and Adam Sanford and Robbie, Adam, and Jake Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are, Dr. William Maddox, Dr. John Lawrence, Dr. Ron Wild, and Dr James Hoer.

A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. On Sunday, October 15, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Nicole Jones officiating.
