Dana Hamlin

March 26, 1944 — June 29, 2016

Maggie Valley, Dana Dean Hamlin, Jr., 72, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. A native of Tampa, Florida, he was the son of the late Dana D. and Geraldine Hamlin. Dean was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather and a devoted friend. Dean was an avid hunter. Dean is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol A. Hamlin; two daughters, Aimee L. Feldman (Louis) and Kellie A. Springer; two sisters, Donna Rainey (Billy) and Debra Calhoun; two grandchildren, Daniel and Bradley Springer. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Waynesville. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. His family thanks our church family, CarePartners Hospice and Palliative Care Services, St. Joseph Hospital, 10th floor and CC of WNC, especially Dr. Messino and his staff.
