Daniel Mcelroy

Waynesville-Daniel Joe McElroy, age 72, of 694 Stevenson Cove Road, died suddenly on Monday, November 13, 2006. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Guy Medford McElroy and Mary Lou Bryson McElroy and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Donald McElroy. He was a farmer. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mabel McElroy; two daughters, Lisa James and her husband, Roger and Sharon "Beth" Dixon and her husband, Michael, both of Waynesville; one son, James R. Justice of Waynesville; one sister, Mary Ellen Justice and her husband, Justice, of Waynesville; one brother, Jack Bruce McElroy and his wife, Judy, of Clyde; one granddaughter, Heidi Dixon; and three grandsons, Mike Dixon, and Joey and Jonathan Justice. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Crabtree Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
