Danny Rhymer

Clyde-Danny Leon Rhymer, age 66, of 60 Pinecrest Way, died on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he had lived in Haywood County since 1988. He was the son of the late Roy and Frances Creasman Rhymer and was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Rhymer. He was a marketing associate with Sysco Foods, Inc. and would have celebrated 50 years with the company on September 16 of this year. Danny enjoyed golfing, camping, and working in his yard. He also loved Nascar and watching Carolina basketball. Danny was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Charlotte Kirkpatrick Rhymer; two daughters, Robin Fox and her husband, Greg, of Candler and Christy Pace of Clyde; two sons, Rusty Rhymer and his wife, Bobbie, of Sylva and Andrew Hollingsworth of Waynesville; three sisters, Barbara Hall and Joann Jones, both of Candler and Shirley Ownby of Pfafftown, NC; seven grandchildren, Mary Beth Price, Megan Whitted, David Shetley, Kendall and Carson Rhymer, Elly Hamlin, Thomas Hollingsworth: and one great granddaughter, Raegan Elizabeth Price, arriving in April. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jackie Collins and Reverend Mike Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home and at other times at the residence. Serving as pallbearers will be C.J. Storey, James Shope, William Dipialo, Chris Krueger, Jim West, and Eddie Gibbs.
