Waynesville, Darlene Allen Allison, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her residence.
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Malven and Helen Parton Allen. Darlene spent many years in the banking industry and retired from Champion Credit Union. She was a lifelong member of Hemphill Baptist Church, she loved her church and helping with Vacation Bible School. Darlene enjoyed cooking and cleaning.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 50 years, Leon Allison; four sisters, Betty Jo Grant (Halley), Dianne Bryson (Donnie), Linda Clark (Ray) and June Birchfield (Glenn); brother, Charles Ray Allen (Sue); sister-in-law, Bobbie Sue Waldroup; brother-in-law, Don Allison (Dorothy); nieces, Shondra Grant and Tania Keller (Billy); nephew, Glenn Birchfield, Jr. (Ashley); great-nieces, Alexia Grant, Lydea Keller and Abby Keller; great-nephew, Will Keller.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hemphill Baptist Church with Reverend Zack Plemmons officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Haywood Infusion Center, HOPE Cancer Center and Four Season’s Hospice.
