David Boyd

Canton - David Claude Boyd, age 60, of Stamey Cove Road died Friday, February 21, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

He was a native and life long resident of Haywood County and was the son of Jewell Israel Boyd and the late Dock Boyd.

He retired from Dayco Corporation in 1999 with 29 years of services and was currently employed at Magnetics. He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, Janice Hall Boyd of Canton, he is survived by three daughters, Tina Boyd and her husband, Greg Sorrells of Candler, Kelly Carter and her husband, Joey and Jill Donaldson and her husband, Anthony all of Canton; a sister, Rachel Jackson of Canton; a granddaughter, Samantha Carter; two step grandsons, Robbie and Brandon Carter and two nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverends Bruce Cayton and T. M. Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
