David Bulko, Sr.

Waynesville, David Manuel Bulko, Sr., age 51, of Westwood Circle, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was born in Tauntan, MA and was the son of David Rogers and Dianne Medeiros and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Margaret Medeiros and a sister, Traci Bulko. He was employed by Wolfpen Association as a driver for five years and was a member of New Covenant Church. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. David loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and vacationing in his houseboat at Fontana Lake. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Vickie Bulko; two daughters, Jessica Hightower and her husband, David of Waynesville and Staci Donlin and her husband, Ed, of Clyde; two sons, David Bulko, Jr. and Matthew Yarski, both of Waynesville; two sisters, Kelly Bulko and her husband, Tom, of Paxinos, PA and Stephanie Rogers of MA; four grandchildren, Jesse and Traci Hightower and Madison and Mason Donlin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with Reverend Frank Harvey and Reverend Dale Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at 317 Westwood Circle, Waynesville, NC. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Ledford, Bryson "Moose" Franklin, Pete Juliussen, Andy "Ham" Bolin, Joey Burgess and Cody Trull. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Ledford, Blake Cagle and Richard Donlin. A trust fund has been established for Vickie Bulko at Oldtown Bank, 2045 S. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786 for those who wish to make a donation.
