David Cota

Clyde, David Charles Cota, age 65, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. David was born in Connecticut, lived most of his life in upstate New York and moved to Haywood County where he resided for the past six months. He was the son of the late Thaddeus and Anna Andrews Cota and retired from the Rochester, NY School System as a Custodian where he was very dedicated to his work. David lived for his family and will be remembered for his flavor for life and was a role model to all who knew him. He was also an avid football and baseball fan. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of seven years, Tammy Lee Cota; two sons, Thad and Zackary Cota both of Clyde; three daughters, Suzette Johnston and her husband, Bob, of Maryland, Amanda and Amber Cota both of Clyde; one sister, Martha Payette and her husband, Denny, of Massachuetts; two brothers, Tim Cota and his wife, Julie, of Elmira, NY, John Cota and his wife, Pat, of Horseheads, NY; four grandchildren, Joshua Cota of Michigan, Nathan Cota of Asheville, Ashley Keifer of Maryland and Taylor and Casey Johnston; in-laws, Danny and Janelle Slate of Clyde, NY, Randy and Vickie Slate of Savannah, NY, Trena and Tim Cook, of Clyde, NY, Tom and Tricia Wood of Sodus, NY, Jeff and Charlene Slate, of Lyons, NY and Ricky and Candi Slate of Sodus, NY. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2009 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard Warren officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
