David Ferguson, Sr.

Waynesville, David Roger Ferguson, Sr. passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at his residence. David was the son of the late George Thomas and Edith Rogers Ferguson. He was a member of Waynesville Township High School class of 1961 and attended John Marshall Law School of Atlanta, GA. David worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Marietta, GA, a contractor for Residential Construction in Cobb County, GA; owned and operated Ferguson's Kountry Store in Ela, NC, and worked for UPS in Sylva, NC. David collected and sold Antique and Classic Cars in Waynesville, and was a member of the Mountaineer Antique Automobile Club. David was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Glenna Marie Wyatt Ferguson; a son, David R. "Fergo" Ferguson, Jr. and his wife, Leigh Ann, of Belmont, NC; granddaughter, Emily Kathryn Grissom; one sister, Carolyn Hall and her husband, Jerry; niece, Karen Hall and a nephew, Steve Hall and his wife, Barbara. Also surviving is David's special cat Smokey. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Davis officiating. Inurnment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
