David Alan Graham

David Alan Graham, a beloved member of his community and a passionate motorcycle enthusiast, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Forsyth County, North Carolina. Born on November 23, 1955, in Hinton, West Virginia, David dedicated much of his life to his family and his craft.

 

As the owner and operator of "Motovation", a well-respected motorcycle repair shop, David was not only skilled in his trade but also earned a reputation for his love of motorcycles. He was deeply involved in the motorcycle racing community as a Team Owner and Race Official and announcer for the CCS Race Series, where he shared his enthusiasm for the sport with fellow racers and fans alike. David was fondly known as “the mouth of South”.

 

Music was another passion of David's. He enjoyed all genres, with a particular fondness for blues. His deep appreciation for music mirrored his zest for life and enriched the experiences he shared with those around him.

 

David is remembered as a devoted family man. He is survived by his life partner of 12 years, Sue Sharp, of Canton; one son, Colin Graham of Candler; one daughter, Claire Graham of Candler; and one sister, Donna Otey of Roanoke, Virginia. He leaves behind many cherished memories for his loved ones.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ovid Graham and Betty Sheppard Hall, who instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication that defined both his personal and professional life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Beverly Graham and Barbara Hicks.

 

David Alan Graham will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey.

 

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SARGE’S Animal Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 854, Waynesville, NC 28786.
