David Mccracken

Waynesville, Marion David McCracken, age 61, of Will Hyatt Road, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Jesse Marion and Nannie Drinnon McCracken. In addition to his parents, a sister preceded him in death. David retired from Western Carolina Plumbing and attended Pole Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, cross-stitch and working in his yard. David was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic instructor. David is survived by a special friend, Elinor West and several cousins and neighbors. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dennis Thurman and Clayton Davis officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. At other times, the family will be at the home of David and Karen Silas, 25 Sand Trap Road in Waynesville.
