Waynesville, David William Revis, age 48 of Church Street died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Fred Revis and the late Iris Cagle Bailey. David was a dedicated employee of Bi-Lo of Waynesville for the past 12 years working as a bag boy. He was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church and attended Allens Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed weaving and putting puzzles together. In addition to his father Fred Revis of Gastonia, NC, he is survived by six sisters, Maggie Singo and her husband, Bobby, of Clyde, NC, JoAnn Spencer and her husband, Davy, of Stanley, NC, Brenda Glover and her husband, David, of Hendersonville, NC, Lois Rholetter and her husband, Terry, of Franklin, NC, Linda Revis of Alaska, Betty Revis of Stanley, NC, three brothers Robert Bailey of Leicester, NC, Jack Revis and his wife, Heather, of Shelby, NC, Tommy Revis and his wife, Melissa, of Blacksburg, SC and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Cullen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Andrews, Richard Smathers, Chris Perry, Phil Green, Don Smith and Johnny Creighton.
