David Robinson

Deland, Fl., David Reed Robinson, age 71, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011 at the West Volusia Care Center in Orange City, Florida. David was originally from Clyde, North Carolina, and was a member of the Clyde Masonic Lodge. He was the son of the late Reed John and Susie Lavinia Patton Robinson. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1957 to 1963. David moved to Florida in the late 1960's with his wife, Edna Mae. He excelled to become a very successful man in the building and development of homes and land in both Florida and North Carolina. David also achieved great successes in other businesses in the Medical field, Private Jet industry, and the Tree-Farming industry. His passions were working hard, being on the ocean, riding his motorcycles all throughout the US especially in his homeland of the Blue Ridge Mountains, country and blues music, and taking care of his wife of 53 years. David was fondly known to family and friends as "Dave". Dave was born to lead and that is what he did best. He will always be remembered as our leader! David is survived by his love since 6th grade, wife, Edna Mae Fugate Robinson; his sister, Sarah Elveta Robinson Lundy and her husband, Richard Laverne, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral services for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 20th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service is being planned for family and friends in Deland, Florida and arrangements will be forthcoming.
