Waynesville, Deane Arnold Demick, age 74, died Friday, November 20, 2009 at Mission Hospital. A native of Burlington, VT, he was the son of the late Chester and Thelma Hubbard Demick. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Phillips Demick. He was a US Air Force veteran. Deane retired from Champion International with 30 years service as a reamer operator and also owned and operated Town and Country Auto Removal. Deane enjoyed antiquing and older automobiles. He is survived by his wife of two years, Kim "Canter" Demick; two sons, Chris and Mark Demick, both of Waynesville; a daughter, Tammy Demick, of Canton; two stepdaughters, Destiny Canter and Jennifer Moody, both of Canton; one sister, Judy Slankard, of AZ; two brothers, Chester Demick, of Skylerville, NY and Terry Demick, of VT; eight grandchildren, Stephen "Scooter," Demick (whom Deane was raising), Martina, Kendra, Kaitlin, Makayla, Angela, Joseph and Gloria and one cousin, Don Siegriest, of VT. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Riverside Cemetery with Reverend David Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
