Debra Masterson

Waynesville, Debra Ann Masterson, age 52, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Wrightstown, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Donald Benjamin and Wanda Marie McCroskey Yon. She was employed at the Dog House in Waynesville. Debra had a heart of gold and helped anyone in need. She was devoted to her family and cared for each of them dearly. She also loved all animals, tending to her plants and gardening as well as the outdoors and especially loved camping and fishing. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of six years, Bill Masterson; one son, Jeromy Corley and his wife, Breanne, and their two children, Kirre and Kadyn Corley, all of Canton; a great grandmother, Myrtle Marie McCroskey, of Oxnard, California; three sisters, Donna Yon and Deneen Osen, both of Waynesville and Deanna Yon of Lompoc, California; three brothers, David Yon, of Texas and Danny and Darien Yon, both of Clyde; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice or to Debra's husband, Bill.
