Waynesville, Della Rebecca “Becky” Beasley Cope, 60, passed away on her father’s birthday, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Haywood Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Josephine “Jo” Beasley and the late Malcom Lee “M.L.” Beasley and was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Farady and Della Mae Justice Beasley and Hobart and Rebecca Brown Presnell.  She enjoyed fund-raising for needy veterans and wounded warriors and was a joyful person to be around.  Those who know Becky knew she was gifted with a beautiful voice and she loved to sing.  She was a member of Crabtree Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of seven years, David Cope; brothers, Mike, Malcom and Phillip Beasley and his wife, Linda, of Waynesville and Tim Beasley and his wife, Jan, of Statesville; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and her American Legion family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Peterson, Marc Beasley, Steve Yates, Johnny Grogan, Kevin Collins and Mike Ferguson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Rector, Austin and Dylan Yates and Alexander Collins.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a special “thank you” to the doctors and staff who took such wonderful care of Becky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville  SC  29615.
