Deslyn Sherrill

Waynesville, Deslyn Tay Sherrill, age 10, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Haywood County, she is the daughter of Daniel Trey Sherrill and Jessica Lynne Messer and stepfather, Zach Wyche. Deslyn attended Clyde Elementary and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, boat riding and being held and rocked. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her half-sister, Morgan Sherrill; her maternal grandparents, Tim and Terri Messer of Waynesville; paternal grandmother, Renee Sherrill of Waynesville; great maternal grandparents, Carroll and Joyce Trantham and Medford Lee Inman (deceased) and Ray (deceased) and Mary Jane Messer; great paternal grandparents, James (deceased) and Lorraine Wood all of Waynesville; two uncles, Taylor Ledford and Christopher Messer; and several extended family members and special friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Putnam and Reverend Daryl Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
