Donald Best

Donald Carroll Best, age 86, of Grassy View Road died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at his residence. He was a native of Haywood County and the son of the late Pink and Eva Rogers Best. He was preceded in death by four sisters and eight brothers. He attended Ridgeway Baptist Church. He was a self-employed mechanic and was in the Merchant Marines during World War II. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Frankie Young Best, he is survived by a son, Mike Best of the home, a brother, Paul Best of Clyde and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton.
